The VP, Outsourced Vendor Management is responsible for developing and leading the strategic direction of outsourcing and offshoring of servicing operations and other functional areas across the enterprise for greater efficiency, growth, and profitability. This involves leading the overall vendor relationships, overseeing the performance management of service level agreements (SLAs), and all escalations. The role drives the core competencies of teamwork, integrity, and customer service and creates a positive and productive work environment through influence and communication. This role promotes and maintains social, ethical and organizational norms in conducting internal and external business activities, manages deadlines without compromising values and service to our Clients and Borrowers. The role creates an environment that ensures client satisfaction, properly manages risk, enhances our employee experience, and maximizes operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains strategic vendor relationships for implementing outsourcing and offshoring initiatives within Servicing Operations, Quality Control, and other functional areas to increase overall efficiency, growth and profitability
  • Partners with vendors to create multi-process outsourcing and offshoring operations for both domestic and international on-site setup, post-transitional, and on-going operation model
  • Creates and manages a robust governance structure for strategic management and oversight of all outsourcing and offshoring functions including leading transition and cost-benefit analyses
  • Meets or exceeds the financial targets, budget, performance goals, and metrics associated with outsourcing and offshoring initiatives
  • Drives the performance management of service level agreements of selected outsourcing vendors
  • Develops effective partnerships to engage and influence executives and functional leaders at Cenlar who make use of the vendor's service
  • Collaborates effectively with leadership within Operations, Risk, Quality Control, Technology, and other functional groups to accomplish goals
  • Manages the day-to-day aspects of the vendor relationships along with functional leaders and brings escalations to effective and creative resolution
  • Drives and implements change across the enterprise and influences leadership to maintain employee engagement during the change process
  • Manages multiple outsourcing projects simultaneously through successful completion while creating an environment that places client satisfaction as the highest priority and focuses on the long-term vision
  • Drives effective performance management for team members through coaching, development, feedback and succession planning
  • Works with managers to develop and monitor individual and departmental goals and provides effective feedback and guidance on a regular basis; Holds managers accountable for meeting these goals
  • Leads effective performance management and professional talent development across all respective departments
  • Ensures all activities are in accordance with Cenlar's approved risk appetite statement and applicable compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, include but not limited to compliance and operational risk. Demonstrate consideration for Cenlar's reputation as well as our clients, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in mortgage industry - specifically in the mortgage servicing space
  • Demonstrated experience establishing outsourcing and offshoring operations, including on-site set-up and maintaining continuous operating model
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective vendor relationships
  • Proven ability to enhance current operations leveraging vendors skills and services
  • Ability to engage and influence executive leadership
  • Effective listening, communication, and presentation skills to present complex topics to senior management in a persuasive manner
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills to come up with mutually acceptable solutions utilizing available resources with diverse perspectives
  • Strong leadership skills to inspire outstanding performance through collaboration
  • Ability to effectively execute the strategic goals and mission of Cenlar
  • Ability to plan strategically as it relates to outsourcing and offshoring initiatives
  • Ability to conceptualize long-term business goals and develop orderly process of planning to accomplish goals
  • International travel may be required
  • Previous responsibility with a servicing portfolio of greater than 250,000 loans
  • Experience with mortgage subservicing a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple large-scale complex projects across an enterprise
