Overview:

This position is responsible for providing in-depth technical support and training to the shipping department. Ensures product is shipped efficiently and accurately, delivered on time and in a manner requested by our customers. This position also leads associates on shift and ensures quality, efficiency and accuracy standards are being met.

Weekly Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM

Hourly rate starts at $16.50

Responsibilities:

  • Leads quality and quantity of work processed by each associate and bears responsibility for reporting the training and performance of shift personnel.
  • Ensures proper operation of department equipment; requests maintenance assistance when necessary.
  • Distributes goals for key measurements and communicates to all associates on shift and creates associate success through training and coaching and develops a fair, challenging and pleasant working environment.
  • Provides guidance as well as regular informational meetings to the employees and helps develop associates for further responsibilities.
  • Communicates to customer service on orders regarding delayed ship dates.
  • Researches orders needing to be routed, shipped or are past ship date.
  • Ensures orders are routed on time to hit the ship date, avoiding chargebacks.
  • Ensures all OPU / CPU orders are being called on daily.
  • Runs / works SOPS report daily to resolve problem orders.
  • Confirms all AAFES, Navy Exchange and Marine Corps are being worked / shipped daily and meets ship dates.
  • Walks LTL area to make sure orders are moving.
  • Ensures priority mail and orders needing invoices are being sent out daily and not delayed on ship dates.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of packaging and shipping departments and searches for modern and improved methods of operations.
  • Conducts contingency planning and creation of flexible systems. Handles product correctly and clarifies instructions which may require contact with other departments. Duties include documentation and tracking of multiple systems.
  • Keeps daily relations with Oracle and shipping system training, administration, and support associate, with computer issues.
  • Prints daily reports and manifests.
  • Monitors departmental supplies and orders supplies in Oracle as needed.
  • Documents and develops training and development activities.
  • Determines most dependable and cost effective carrier for customer transportation.
  • Works with supervisors and leads to prepare for hot shipments needing to be expedited.
  • Oversees the combining of smaller pallets to keep the total size of Pack and Hold area to a minimum.
  • Oversees incoming and outgoing supplies for production sources in Mexico.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required: One to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Able to read and interpret written information
  • Basic computer skills including proficiency with Word and Excel
