Job Description Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for supporting the requisitioned transportation from freight carriers to ship plant products by performing the following duties.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements and ensure that freight is properly routed.
  • Trace shipments and obtain proof of delivery.
  • Relay shipping information to customers and co-workers.
  • Complete and track paperwork for inbound and outbound truck and rail loads with extreme accuracy.
  • Process transactions in warehouse management system with extreme accuracy.
  • Maintain rail car movement and logs with extreme accuracy.
  • Prepare standard reports, gathers and summarizes data.
  • Run next day orders and hang on order board
  • Run pick sheets
  • Upload pictures from camera onto computer prior to shift change
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Perform other clerical tasks such as typing, copying, correspondence and keeping files.
  • Support all other departments as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Maintain a neat and clean work area at all times, and exhibit good personal hygiene.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed, stay over and come in to cover other shifts, ability to rotate shifts every six months.
  • Actively engage in safety, participate in safety programs, safety activities, and demonstrate ownership as well as leadership in personal safety of other team members. Report all incidents, near misses, and any safety concerns.

  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Knowledge of Inventory software (ASCTrac) and Spreadsheet software (Excel).
  • Must have good customer service skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Read, understand, and obey all plant rules and practice safety as outlined in the employee handbook.
