Our client, a fast growing retail brand, is seeking a VP of People to join their New York team. In this role you will work closely with the People Team to develop and implement talent management and recruiting efforts. Day to day responsibilities will include growing DE&I efforts through innovative initiatives and reporting on progress, overseeing the full-cycle recruitment process and work allocation amongst the People Team, liaising with leadership to ensure goals and initiatives are in alignment, consistently reviewing and enhancing benefits programs, and overseeing payroll and conducting compensation reviews. Other tasks involve managing partnerships with outside vendors, fostering a positive company culture, assessing employee engagement, ensuring legal compliance, and fielding employee questions and complaints. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a senior people leader, a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, strong decision making skills, an ability to work independently and prioritize, experience developing and implementing best practices, and a passion for building a strong company culture. Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience as a Senior People Leader, preferably within a rapidly growing company
• Experience in a retail environment, preferred
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• A can-do attitude and ability to inspire high performance in others
