Vocational Project Coordinators administer, monitor, and report out on assigned special project within the Rehabilitative Services Department. Typically, coordinating grants or contract efforts coordination to ensure full performance, proper documentation, and evidence-based standards are met. Responsible for day-to-day operation of the rehabilitative project, and employees performing job tasks under the project. May serve as a liaison between the organization and other outside organizations.

Projects have included, but are not limited to: Grants, Social Security Benefits, Survey Team, College Coordination, Peer Mentor Training, Vocational Supervisor oversight.

  • $28.12/hour
  • $1-$2.50 language differential
  • This is a full-time (40 hours per week) benefited position

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Ensure compliance with MHCD policies, State and other regulatory policies regarding clinical care and documentation.
  • Develop work flow, channels of communication, and procedures for the project.
  • Assist with the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting needs of the team. Ensure compliance of established budget.
  • Complete comprehensive vocational assessments, utilizing aptitude, interest and other assessment tools.
  • Coordinate with other rehabilitative services, staff, and support, as well as with primary treatment clinicians. Coordinate care between the rehabilitation department and the clinical teams.
  • Develop individualized training plans for consumers in the vocational/rehabilitation program.
  • Coordination of consumer's activities at assigned work stations/sites at MHCD or outside employers.
  • Providing and documenting all employment services.
  • Complete timely and accurate data, reports and clinical documentation as required.
  • Participate in pre-vocational partial care services.
  • Conduct rehabilitative and goal-oriented educational opportunities.
  • Plan and facilitate social activities within the community and with the program.
  • Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.
  • Perform all Employment Specialists duties such as maintaining a full caseload, job development, job coaching, resume writing etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned which help consumers work toward employment and recovery.
  • Develop individualized training plans for staff in the vocational/rehabilitation program.
  • Monitor training staff progress and documentation to determine success of training
  • Participate in grant/studies as assigned. Currently Supported Employment Demonstration (SED) study.
  • Perform other duties as assigned which help consumers/staff work toward employment and recovery goals

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in related field with minimum of three year of vocational experience preferred.
  • Masters degree in Voc. Rehab. or related field and one year of vocational experience.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with severe and persistent mental illness.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn and practice trauma informed principles and practices.
  • Project planning and management skills - ability to handle complex issues in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of vocational community resources and the local community.
  • General knowledge of computer technology.
