The Sigmund Weis School of Business is one of a small number of programs accredited by AACSB-International that focus exclusively on undergraduate education; 25 faculty members serve approximately 600 majors. The school is one of ten, private, undergraduate-only schools with AACSB Accreditation and is unique in that it guarantees internships in a foreign country to students. Position Summary:
Susquehanna University invites applications for a position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor to start in August 2023.

We are a student focused institution, and the responsibilities primarily include teaching, mentoring and advising undergraduates, working with Alumni and providing excellent development opportunities for our students both in and outside the classroom. This candidate should demonstrate knowledge and experience in teaching courses such as Business Policy, the strategic management capstone course for all business majors within the Sigmund Weis School of Business, Principles of Management and International Business

Required Qualifications:
A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Management or a related field. A record that illustrates current (or suggests the potential for) excellent teaching in the area of strategic management with an additional focus on principles of management and international business is preferred. This candidate will be expected to interact openly and inspire students through their teaching strategies which demonstrates a high level of organization and communication.
Candidates will need to meet the School’s definition of Instructional Practitioner, Practice Academic, or Scholarly Academic. To be Scholarly Academic, the candidate must demonstrate they are an active academic scholar in a business (or related) discipline. To do this, a faculty member must
Either have received their Ph.D. within the past 5 years or must have at least two publications within the prior 5 years of:

  • an article in a quality management, marketing, business, economics, or business-related refereed journal (academic, professional, pedagogical)
  • a scholarly book
  • a widely adopted, non-self-published textbook



Note: New Ph.D.s are considered Scholarly Academic for five years after receiving their Ph.D. By the end of the fifth year, the faculty member must meet the general SA requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry experience.
  • An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Management or a related field.
