The Department of Sociology & Anthropology at Colgate University invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in anthropological archaeology, beginning fall semester 2024. Regional specialization open.

Strong candidates should be able to teach Introduction to Archaeology and electives in their areas of specialization. Candidates with prior teaching experience and with the ability to teach courses such as Archaeology of Warfare, Environmental Archaeology, Archaeology of Race and Ethnicity, or Archaeology of Gender are preferred. Completion of Ph.D. in Anthropology is required prior to or shortly after the date of hire.

Salary Range or Pay Grade

$68,900 (for ABD candidates) to $72,900 (for candidate with PhD in hand)

The Department of Campus Safety at Colgate University will provide upon request a copy of Colgate's Annual Security and Fire Safety Report. This report includes statistics as reported to the United States Department of Education for the previous three years concerning reported: 1.
