The Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in Chinese, beginning fall seme­­­ster 2024. A Ph.D. is required prior to or shortly after date of hire. Native or near native command of both Chinese and English is required. The area of specialization is open. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach Chinese language courses at all levels, a course in the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum, and may be invited to teach a course in Chinese literature and culture. The teaching load is the equivalent of five courses for the year.

Salary Range or Pay Grade

$68,900 (for ABD candidates) to $72,900 (for candidate with PhD in hand)

This report includes statistics as reported to the United States Department of Education for the previous three years concerning reported: 1. crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Colgate University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus and 2. fires that occurred in student housing facilities. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security and fire safety, such as policies concerning sexual assault, life safety systems, and other related matters.
