The Vice President, Workforce Strategy, Planning and Management will lead an exciting, once-in-a-career transformation opportunity as Meta reinvents our processes, data and tooling in support of the dynamic global talent needs of our organization. This leader will do this while supporting operationally excellent execution of headcount management in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will have expertise in operational management, organizational change, finance, recruiting, and data science, as well as the ability to lead through change and influence leaders. The leader will have the support of a team of about 90 professionals in the organization, and the support of a team of strong directors and managers. The leader must be able to demonstrate deep technical expertise, strong strategic acumen, and effective leadership within their own organization as well as with leaders and executives of partner, including Finance, Recruiting, IT and our client groups in the businesses.Key functions included with this organization include planning, data science (algorithms, modeling, forecasting), location strategy, and operational management of headcount transactions.

Vice President, Workforce Strategy, Planning and Management Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with Finance, Recruiting, HR, and Engineering leaders, lead and improve development of annual strategic workforce plans and execution of ongoing headcount management
  • Deliver headcount management within SLA
  • Elevate data, analytical and execution practices in support of headcount and strategic workforce planning to deliver long term headcount strategies and near term plans that support those strategies
  • Develop roadmap to align with company priorities, identifying gaps, risks and communicating progress and shifts to Engineering leadership and partners
  • Deliver recommendations to optimize workforce configuration, performance and engagement through evidenced-based science and analytics
  • Design and execute programs integrating financial feasibility, recruiting feasibility, business priorities, location, org health, org maturity, and business needs
  • Design and maintain scalable organization in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment
  • Manage a global team (~100) across workforce process, tools, data, models, algorithms, and change management
  • Effectively manage through complex technical and philosophical challenges
  • Effectively influence technical leaders
  • Influence the strategic vision and direction of our programs
  • Build strong partnerships and collaboration with peers and global business partners


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience across strategic workforce planning, finance, recruiting, data science, organizational transformation and/or program management
  • 8+ years experience as a people manager and experience managing directors and managers
  • 5+ years of experience leading others in complex growth environments
  • Experience managing transformational change and operational execution simultaneously and working autonomously in a fast-paced ambiguous environment
  • Effective influencing skills with technical and non-technical audiences across all levels of an organization
  • Stakeholder management experience (HR, Recruiting, Engineering and Product and the Executives in those organizations)
  • Bachelors Degree


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience working internally (as opposed to consulting) in a large, complex organization (e.g., high-tech, financial services, healthcare, biotech, etc.)
  • Experience leading large-scale, strategic development programs, including technical content design, development, and implementation
  • Successful track record in building strategies and solutions to meet multiple conflicting customer needs
  • Experience building scalable programs in hyper growth environments
  • Experience in development of a global team
