Job Description:
Everest is seeking a Vice President of Data Engineering to spearhead the execution of our Global Data Strategy. In this high-impact role, you will leverage your extensive technical expertise and leadership skills to collaborate with business counterparts, define strategic plans, and deliver innovative technical solutions that drive business outcomes and align with the company's overarching strategy. As a senior leader, you will oversee multiple teams and serve as a key engineering leader across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders to understand strategic analytics and business intelligence needs, translating them into technology requirements that support business objectives.
- Leadership in Technology: Lead the development and implementation of data and analytics technology strategies and roadmaps to enhance information management capabilities while adhering to established technology and architecture standards.
- Architectural Vision: Define and implement the data and analytics architecture, tools, and capabilities required for a modern, cloud-based data environment, establishing best practices, governance, and controls for broad enterprise adoption.
- Customer Experience: Ensure exceptional customer and partner experiences by providing seamless access to data and intuitive self-service capabilities, maintaining data security, integrity, and quality, and fostering an agile and scalable ecosystem.
- Advanced Analytics: Drive the rapid ingestion of new data and the timely deployment of advanced analytic models into production environments.
- Engineering Excellence: Promote the sharing, inner sourcing, and reuse of code, capabilities, and methods within a cloud-first environment, utilizing highly automated DevOps tools and practices.
- Transformation Leadership: Accelerate data and analytics transformation and cloud adoption, championing security, standards, governance, and best practices with a focus on data quality and integrity.
- Project Delivery: Oversee engagement and coordination across delivery teams to ensure high-quality project execution within scope, timeframe, and budget constraints.

- Team Leadership: Demonstrated experience in building and managing high-performing teams, inspiring them to tackle new challenges and achieve outstanding results.
- Talent Management: Proven ability to attract, retain, and develop top talent, fostering a culture of excellence and clear, aligned communication.
- Data & Analytics Expertise: Extensive experience leading data and analytics organizations within complex, multinational environments, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Influential Leadership: Inspirational leader with strong communication and relationship management skills, thriving in collaborative settings.
- Strategic Vision: Ability to craft and communicate a clear strategy and roadmap that aligns with business stakeholders' expectations and drives delivery excellence.
- Hands-On Approach: Comfortable working in a flat, lean organization that values rolling up sleeves and delving into details.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, or a related field.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance or financial services.
- Technical Expertise: At least 8 years of experience in the data engineering space, with deep expertise in delivering enhanced analytic and data access capabilities.
- Leadership Experience: Over 5 years of experience in people leadership and management.
- Multinational Experience: Experience working in a large, multinational company is preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using the Azure technology stack (ADF, Data Bricks), cloud platforms, object-oriented programming (Python, SQL), and data engineering practices.
