Mesa Community College
Vice President for Administrative Services

President Tammy Robinson, Ed.D., and the community of Mesa Community College (MCC) in Mesa, Arizona, invite inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of Vice President for Administrative Services (VPAS). MCC, the largest of the ten colleges in the Maricopa County Community College District, seeks in its next VPAS a seasoned and collaborative leader who will provide strategic direction for the financial and administrative units of the College, including Cashier Services, Fiscal Services, Human Resources, Information Technology, Maintenance & Operations, and Resources Management.

As a member of the President's senior management team, the VPAS serves alongside the Senior Associate Vice President and College Student Affairs Officer, the Senior Associate Vice President and College Academic Officer, and the Chief Diversity Officer. Direct reports include an Administrative Associate Coordinator, two Associate Vice Presidents, Facilities Director, Police Commander, and a Program Analyst. The division constitutes nearly 140 staff total.

MCC seeks a VPAS with the skill set and experience to effectively support the individual units of the Administrative Services division, continuously planning, organizing, assigning, supervising, reviewing, and evaluating the work of the division's staff. The College desires a leader who can provide strategic direction and planning for the division's short- and long-term success, providing oversight of the development and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures that integrate and align with the strategic mission and goals of the College and District.

The VPAS has fiduciary responsibility for all College resources and will, as a strategic partner, communicate and collaborate regularly with the President and other members of the College's senior management team as well as faculty, staff, students, and community leaders to ensure the effective stewardship of said resources as a part of the College's on-going commitment to student success. The VPAS must have a demonstrated capacity to oversee the preparation and administration of budgets and contracts; to monitor and approve expenditures; and to administer and oversee grant funding and procurement activities, all in a timely manner. In addition, the VPAS must demonstrate experience incorporating best practices in the areas of technology and innovation.

The College seeks a VPAS with an approachable, warm, and engaging demeanor who desires to be a visible presence on all MCC campuses and in the community in order to collaborate and proactively seek opportunities for growth, sustainability, and problem resolution. In alignment with this need is a leader who will improve the resources and support available for continued professional growth and development of staff within the Administrative Services division. Nurturing a culture of teamwork, information-sharing, mutual respect, trust, and transparency in decision making will be essential.
