The future of off-highway vehicles involves increased electronic control to deliver the performance improvements and product automation required by the end customer.

CNH Industrial is looking for expert support to reinforce the Vehicle Architecture and Networks team with attention to these important aspects. As such, we are currently seeking an experienced Vehicle E/E Architect to join our team in Burr Ridge, IL.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the develop architectures and requirements for overall vehicle E/E system with special focus on physical architecture, interface definitions, high-level feature distribution, power modes and distribution
  • Define architectures that can be applied across a variety of agriculture and construction equipment while allowing form optimal variant management
  • Analyze various technologies and approaches to incorporate into system architectures and report on benefits, deficiencies and impacts of adoption
  • Perform appropriate analysis and investigations to support architectural decisions
  • Support development of multi-year product roadmaps interpreting product line vision and work with product and system engineering teams to translate into a tactical advanced engineering blueprint that meets customer and business needs
  • Ensure designs are aligned with stakeholder needs through frequent interaction with product and platform management
  • Create vehicle-platform specific architectures to be used as reference designs for all models within that vehicle platform
  • Produce architecture work products such as: physicial architecture diagram, state/mode diagram, hierarchy diagram, power distribution diagram

This position pays:91,300-132,000 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.) .


The qualified candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years experience developing electronic systems for mission-critical applications
  • 3+ years demonstrated success creating highly technical hardware architectures
  • 3+ years in a systems engineering or similar role with responsibility to writing technical requirements
  • Familiarity with on-vehicle power generation, distribution and management

The ideal candidate will have these preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing vehicle or systems level architectures for off-highway or commercial vehicles
  • Advanced-level knowledge of 3 or more of the following technologies
    • Off-highway E/E systems and architecture
    • Embedded electronic system architecture
    • CAN network design and functionality
    • Closed-loop control principles and system design
    • Model-based system engineering
  • Experience with vehicle power architecture and distribution
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer requirements and use cases into technical solutions while optimizing cost, manufacturability and serviceability
  • Demonstrated ability to consider design trade-offs such as cost, performance, manufacturability, make an optimal decision and justify that decision with appropriate analysis
  • Familiarity with functional safety concepts and standards such as ISO26262, ISO25119, ISO13894
