The Waubonsee Upward Bound program is seeking instructors to teach summer courses during a five-week summer program. Upward Bound Program is a college completion program serving students enrolled at East Aurora High School (EAHS) and West Aurora High School (WAHS). We provide the support and motivation necessary to graduate high school and earn a college degree.

Subjects include:
Mathematics (Algebra through Calculus),
Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering)
English (Literature and composition)
World Language (Arabic, French, German, Mandarin, or Spanish)
Electives in Social Studies, Business, and Health

Instructors are scheduled to work Monday - Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.*

Course dates:
June 10 - 12, 2024
June 17, 18, and 20, 2024 (Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday)
June 24 - 26, 2024
July 1 - 3, 2024
July 8 - 10, 2024

There are no classes on June 19, 2024

Mandatory dates:
Staff Orientation A - May 23, 2024, 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (virtual)
Staff Orientation B - June 4, 2024, 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (in-person)
Open House - July 11, 2024, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

Completed at least 2 years of teaching at the high school or college level. Substitute teaching experience will be considered.

Demonstrated ability to meet diverse learning requirements of students and experience working with diverse student populations.
