Full Time, benefit eligible position, scheduled 64 hours per pay period (every two weeks) on Day shift with a weekend and holiday commitment on the Inpatient Behavioral Health unit at our Chelsea hospital campus.

Our Inpatient Behavioral Health unit at Chelsea is expanding!

Chelsea Hospital IP Behavioral Health Services is a 30-bed licensed adult psychiatric unit. The unit is divided into 2 halls, North Hall which has 14 beds and Center Hall which has 16 beds.

The ultimate purpose of the IP Behavioral Health Services is to facilitate the patient's return to his or her prior living situation or to a situation which allows for the highest level of independent function and quality of life. The unit staff believe that this can be accomplished through the joint efforts of the patient, the family and the treatment team. The philosophy of this unit includes:

  • Active engagement of the patient in all aspects of their treatment
  • Building a therapeutic alliance between patient and staff
  • Supporting the idea that patients are capable of staying in charge of their actions with the support of staff
  • Helping the patient progress by moving from higher restriction environment to lower restriction environment or vice versa dependent on clinical presentation/ support or supervision need
  • Is dependent on staff in milieu interacting and monitoring at all times

The Unit Coordinator/Secretary is responsible for a variety of activities involving clerical support, obtaining requested medical records by the medical team, and providing support to patients and staff in the unit

REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSURE

  • Minimum of high school education
  • Recent unit secretary experience preferred
  • Medical terminology preferred
