Job Description

GPI is seeking an individual to creating cutting-edge transportation solutions for communities in the Tampa Bay region? Our Greenman-Pedersen, Inc (GPI) Tampa Office is seeking a mid-level Transportation Engineer/Project Manager to join our team of innovative professionals. Requirements:

  • Providing technical leadership and training, project management and supervision training desired
  • Ability to win work and maintain relationships with clients
  • Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final design plans for multi-modal transportation projects that include active transportation and Complete Streets principals
  • Design in compliance with FHWA, FDOT, NACTO, ITE and other national best practices and design guidelines
  • Prepare construction bid documents including specifications, construction estimates, and construction support services
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, unexpected requirement changes, while overseeing multiple projects, anticipate issues, propose solutions and implement them successfully
  • Willingness to travel to other geographic markets, as necessary
  • Experience managing large and small, complex projects, and overseeing project staff in multiple geographic locations
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Transportation, civil or electrical engineering, urban and regional planning, or a closely-related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensed, or pending licensure in FL, and AICP would be a plus
  • 8+ years of experience in hand-on transportation projects from concept to construction
  • Experience with regional plans, corridor studies, bicycle/pedestrians plans, infrastructure financing plans, first mile / last mile transit planning, a plus
  • Proven experience in multiple transportation design and/or modeling software packages, such as MicroStation, Geopak, AutoCAD, or Civil3D,
  • Knowledge of Cube/Voyager, TransCAD, VISUM, VISSIM, Synchro/SimTraffic, and others

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails, and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
