Basic Job Functions:
The Traffic Service Representative's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, taking care of our customers by executing the division's Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity, & Profitability objectives. The successful candidate will assist with area safety & housekeeping initiatives, direct truck dispatching and load tracking using Carrier Point Traffic Management System (TMS), process load requests, negotiate rates, create spreadsheets, prepare reports, and perform other administrative duties as needed. The TSR will coordinate with Sales department regarding customer communication. The TSR willcommunicate with carriers via phone/email/TMS to address specific requests & maintain accurate records. The TSR will be required to provide coverage at the Traffic Control Center as needed, and may be called upon to perform other duties as required.The TSR will be a key contributor within the Sales, Traffic, and Shipping teams ensuring a strong level of Traffic Administration in order to facilitate continuous improvement, Commercial Excellence, and on time delivery for Nucor. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma
3 to 5 years of experience in truck dispatching or logistics
