Make a bigger difference

Therapist

At The Jewish Board, we don't just make a difference - we make a bigger difference as we serve 45,000 New Yorkers every year. Join our dedicated team that's been helping communities across New York City for almost 150 years and see just how big of a difference you can make.

Reasons you'll love working with us:

* If you have a particular age range or population you're interested in working with, you can find your niche here. Our clients and staff are as diverse as the city we work in, and include people of all cultures, religions, races, gender expressions, and sexual orientations.

  • We're committed to supporting your career development by encouraging mobility and advancement across different program types and jobs.

  • With 70 locations throughout the five boroughs, you can work close to where you live.

  • Generous vacation time and 15 paid holidays will help you achieve a healthy work/life balance.

  • We offer an excellent benefits package with affordable, high-quality health and dental insurance with low co-pays.

  • You'll receive ongoing support through high-quality supervision, specialized trainings from our Continuing Education team, and an education benefit.

How you can make a bigger difference:

Transition youth from residential facilities back to their natural environment with a minimum of disruptions and reduce risk of youth being placed again.

Eliminate or significantly reduce the frequency and severity of the youth's referral behavior(s);

Empower parents with the skills and resources needed to independently address the inevitable difficulties that arise in raising children and adolescents, and to empower youth to cope with family, peer, school, and neighborhood problems.

The Jewish Board community residence programs (Holland Avenue, Bruner House, Westchester Ave, Staten Island) serve youth displaying a wide range of behaviors including psychiatric diagnoses, trauma and loss, and related family/behavioral issues. The target for MST-FIT focuses on youth, 12 to 17 ½ years old, transitioning from the community residence back to home (as defined by caregivers or referral source). Program works with the family from 2 months prior to discharge until 4 months post discharge to support the family to successfully reintegrate the youth home.

  • Conduct MST assessment including review of referral information, identifying, and engaging key participants, identifying systemic strengths and weaknesses, and developing an analysis of the fit of problem behaviors within the ecological context.
  • Engage primary caregiver and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement.
  • Implement a problem conceptualization, treatment planning, intervention implementation, outcomes review and strategy revision procedure using the MST Analytic Process.
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts that promote peer and supervisory review and feedback, and that demonstrate compliance with the nine MST Principles and the MST Analytic Process.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with all relevant systems and key participants within each system, to maintain alignment throughout MST treatment.
  • Provide direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with MST principles and practices.
  • Participate in all MST training, supervision, consultation, and MST Therapist development activities.

Qualifications:

The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented individuals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:

  • Master's degree in clinical or counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related subject area required and a license in a counseling field (LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LCAT, etc); limited permit will be considered.
  • Prior experience with electronic health records and Microsoft Office
  • Bilingual-Spanish preferred

If you join us, you'll have these great benefits:

  • Generous paid time off in addition to 15 agency holidays and 15 sick days
  • Affordable and high-quality medical/dental/vision plans
  • Tuition assistance and educational loan forgiveness
  • Free continuing education opportunities
  • 403(b) retirement benefits and a pension
  • Flexible spending accounts for health and transportation
  • 27/7 Accessible Employee Assistance Program
