What You Will Contribute:


We are looking for an entry-level test engineer to join our test engineering team in developing hardware and software for automated test solutions in a manufacturing environment. We are open to an individual in our Milwaukee or Racine location!

As a Test Engineer I, you will work with a team of experienced test engineers in developing your skills in both test software and hardware design. This position will provide opportunities to learn and grow you engineering career in a dynamic and fast-paced engineering environment.

Job Duties:

  • Develop test software and hardware for manufacturing test, with the guidance of senior test engineers
  • Participate in NPD (New Product Development) supporting manufacturing test equipment
  • Assist with sustaining engineering - current product support/issues, test hardware and software validation
  • Assist in defining test plans / production implementations
  • Create electrical documentation, including drawings and specifications of test equipment
  • Accountable to mentor or lead test engineer in your day to day activities
  • Learn and navigate Badger Meter systems and procedures
  • Gain familiarization with Badger Meter product portfolio
  • Understand manufacturing processes required for product
  • Learn basics of project management and manufacturing processes
  • Become familiar with and adhere to Badger Meter safety policies
  • Validate/Audit/Review Level III procedures (specific work tasks)
  • Travel to domestic and international manufacturing locations 5-10%
  • Support Manufacturing /Production in a timely manner by troubleshooting production issues.

Qualifications:
  • Experience with a minimum of one software language (LabVIEW experience is a plus) and basic software principles
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an Associate's degree with 3+ year's experience
  • Ability to read and understand electrical circuit schematics and designs
  • Solid foundation with engineering fundamentals
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-discipline team
  • Ability to apply engineering fundamentals for troubleshooting of electro-mechanical devices
  • Ability to analyze and perform statistical analysis
  • Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written)
  • Ability to operate on a manufacturing floor as applicable
  • Demonstrates strong initiative and motivation
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively solve problems
