The Technician refurbishes Brother products (sewing machines, printers, fax machines, and labeling products) by following established refurbishing procedures and makes decisions based on supplied refurbishing parameters. This role works in the mode of continuous improvement to contribute to the
transformation of the refurbishing area to meet expected cost savings. Technicians follow the refurbishment standards to ensure the best quality of the product.

Duties and Responsibilities

Production

• Process Brother products through the refurbishing process and ensure quality standards are met
• Follow supplied documentation during the refurbishing process and submit any process improvements identified
• Maintain a safe environment and foster a positive team dynamic
• Decision making authority of unit if it meets or exceeds refurbishing parameters
• Accurately enter required data fields into NSSFC (National Service Shop Floor Control) during the refurbishing process
• Communicate reoccurring failures to leadership staff identified during the processing of Brother units

Quality

• Follow all guidelines for refurbishing set by the Quality Assurance department

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma (or G.E.D.)
• Minimum 3 years Refurbishing consumer home electronics
• Ability to use hand tools such as screwdriver and pliers Intermediate
• Able to read and understand detailed electrical-mechanical repair work instruction
• Strong Troubleshooting Skills
• Fast learner and self-motivated
• Able to work independently
• Able to coordinate work with team members
