Job Summary:

Technical trainers within our organization are responsible for delivering both customer facing and internal courses on ZOLL's line of ventilator and defibrillator product lines. Delivered course material has an emphasis on preventive maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and device operation. Training classes are held both remotely at customer sites, along with in house classes held at our headquarters. Approximately 50-75% travel, both domestic and international for multi-week training sessions may be required. This job will be based out Chelmsford Massachusetts.

Essential Functions:

  • Delivering hands on training directly to biomedical engineers and technicians on ZOLL's line of ventilator and defibrillator product lines.
  • Acting as a SME in the areas of device operation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Developing new content and improving existing training materials in order to support both on-site training classes and our eLearning platform.
  • Acting as a second tier technical resource for our helpdesk to assist with answering technical questions.
  • Blend traditional learning approaches with existing and new technologies while utilizing a variety of learning tools, techniques, concepts, and practices in order to create and deliver effective learning programs.
  • Effectively communicate with manager regarding training/facilitation, program or project status.
  • Proactively work with internal and external project team members to identify and resolve issues.
  • Create courseware using online LMS tools, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and using available graphics and multimedia software.
  • Revise training curriculum and methods as needed to improve effectiveness.
  • Working with video production in order to assist in developing new training content in various distribution channels.

Skills Requirements:
  • Knowledge of modern training tools and course development software.
  • Excellent documentation and time management skills.
  • Technical writing.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role as a technical expert.
  • Valid Passport.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Instructional Design / Curriculum Development
  • Clinical knowledge relating to mechanical ventilation and defibrillation.
  • Proficient computer skills with a focus on MS Office.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Experience as a technical trainer.
  • Experience as a biomedical engineer or technician.
  • Bachelor's degree, or 5 years' experience in a related field.
  • Military background is strongly preferred.
  • Experience providing technical support on ventilation, defibrillator, or cardiac monitoring equipment.
