Responsibilities

The Technical Support Analyst is responsible for providing technical support for office and lab computers via supervision of Help Desk staff, as well as installing software packages for 75+ lab/kiosk/console computers (Mac OS and OS Windows 10, 11) including basic troubleshooting for classroom audio video lectern equipment.

In this role, you will be responsible for:.

  • Reviewing all requests to the Psychology ticket system and responds, which requires knowledge of Windows and MAC OS along with MDM (Mobile Device Management) support.

  • Maintaining data security, backup, and redundancy strategies.

  • Providing technical support for faculty and staff that require a higher level of support.

  • Configuring and updating operating systems and software packages for Psychology labs, kiosks, and console computers.

  • Responsible for hardware and software procurement, lifecycle planning and replacement, storage, and network topology solutions for laptops and desktops.

  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing computer equipment.

  • Researching the efficiency of anti-virus software and ways to handle malware infections.

  • Assisting SysAdmin and Research Technology specialist with issues of network maintenance and troubleshooting.Requires knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy, Windows Server operating systems, Linux and/or Linux+ certification, and Enterprise deployment solutions and/or computer imaging.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience. (Note: post-high school education may substitute for experience at a comparable rate.)

Experience with performing IT support duties; setting up new computers in a networked environment; diagnosing hardware problems and dealing with malware infections; diagnosing software problems including, but not limited to Mac and Windows issues for Windows 10 and Windows 11; diagnosing software issues including programs such as Microsoft Office; diagnosing issues with some of the following web browsers: IE, Safari, Firefox, Chrome; and experience diagnosing issues with some of the following e-mail clients: Webmail, Thunderbird, Outlook, Gmail.

Anticipated Salary Range

The minimum starting salary for this position is $36,250 and an offer will be determined upon selection commensurate with the skills and experience of a qualified candidate.
