Position Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the production mix submittals of concrete products and owns this process for their area. Reports to the Technical Manager. They are also responsible to data entry and management of a specific areas database.

Requirements

  • Generate and coordinate mix submittals. Including any necessary adjustments of the concrete mix for various pours. Distribute mixes the appropriate plants and manage any adjustments as the need arises.
  • Assist sales in bid and submittal process and preparation. Communicate and coordinate submittals with sales, project engineer, project manager, and state, to ensure correct mix design is used. Look for potential value-added sales opportunities.
  • Update mix designs, material attachments, and manage price increases in both Quadrel and Command Series.
  • Assemble all letters and documentation as needed for customers and engineers.
  • Develop and maintain up to date knowledge of all governing specifications for concrete products. i.e. ASTM. and D.O.T.
  • Coordinates with vendors to obtain needed information and request changes as necessary and appropriate.
  • Input statistical data into the computer on a regular basis. Coordinate with company laboratory to ensure up to date information is available and monitored.
  • Coordinate with company laboratory to develop a laboratory schedule for needed testing.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, sales, production, and the engineering community.
  • Participates as an active member of the assigned empowered work team(s).
  • Other duties as required
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Minimum High School Diploma with strong math skills.
  • NRMCA Level 2 Concrete Technologist (preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years Ready Mix or Construction experience (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant concrete ingredients and their application (aggregates, cements, admixtures, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Computer literacy is required. MS Office experience preferred
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in an office environment.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time
