Local Unit & Position Description

DNV Energy Systems division is seeking a Technical Intern to join their team and support their engineers.

The internship will be based out of our DNV office in Rochester, NY. The internship is offered for the Fall semester with projected start date end of August or beginning of September and expected to last 2 to 3 months (might be extended based on business needs).

What You'll Do

  • Battery Life Cycle Testing (includes set-up of cells in compression fixtures, electrical connections, cycler programming, monitoring)
  • Battery Burn Testing
  • Battery & Inverter System testing
  • Data Analysis
  • System Programming
  • Special projects as required
Position Qualifications

What is Required
  • College courses in a relevant discipline (Engineering) required
  • Electro-Mechanical skills (set-up, troubleshoot equipment)
  • Experience with electrical wiring, electronics, electrical test equipment
  • Some experience in equipment programing / troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Able to perform physical duties in a lab
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening
What is Preferred
  • Related battery, fuel cell or inverter testing experience
  • Experience with lab-view programming
  • Knowledge of system communication & CANBUS protocols
  • Data acquisition systems
  • Troubleshoot high voltage test equipment
