SUMMARY

The Technical Documentation Specialist is responsible for supporting Filtra-Systems customers by generating and maintaining clear, concise and accurate technical information for the purchased products. Filtra-Systems Company engineers and constructs industrial process filtration and separation equipment. The primary markets served include Automotive, Oil and Gas, Wastewater and Remediation projects. The Technical Documentation Specialist possesses and applies technical writing and equipment knowledge to adequately convey technical information to customers. The technical information includes, but not limited to, technical and maintenance manuals, spare parts, customer drawings, job plans and training lessons. This position also supports aftermarket sales growth, service execution and product improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance with all applicable rules (federal, state, local, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, Prime Contract requirements, etc.) for themselves and the company as a whole. Fosters an environment in which they will reportanyviolations or reasonably suspected violation of CNI policy, FAR, and/or CFR and are comfortable discussing the myriad compliance, conflict, FAR, CFR, etc. issues that arise during the performance of a government contract.

Generates and manages standardized product manuals, product spare parts documentation, instruction manuals and consumables list.

Produces and manages engineered system product manuals, spare parts documentation, instruction manuals, drawings and consumables list in formats required by the customer.

Develops aftermarket spare parts packages to support aftermarket sales team.

Creates, generates and manages the technical training program.

Manages language translation of all technical documentation.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience, or equivalent combination
of education / experience in the field of Technical Writing. Demonstrates a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. Experience with manuals and spare parts documentation required. Experience with 2D and 3D CAD programs is a plus.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Highly organized and extremely detail-oriented with ability to quickly grasp business needs and issues.

Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to manage workload and time effectively.

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Ability to meet deadlines.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,
technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and
respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic
algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to
interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and
deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic. May be exposed to warehouse, truck or forklift noise. May be required to use safety and personal protective equipment.
