Position Summary

Under the supervision of Dev/Ops Manager. The System Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining and supporting Servers and Infrastructure support systems. This position will be responsible for conducting ongoing system health assessments, ensuring system resources to maintain operating efficiency, and applying a proactive approach to resolving system performance issues. The Systems Engineer will ensure their internal customers are served using strong problem solving and a sense of urgency to resolve issues and ensure systems are operating continually.

Specific Responsibilities

·            Servers and Storage administration (Dell OME a plus)

·            Virtual Infrastructure Management

·            Install, Configure, Test, and Patch Operating Systems

·            Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure

·            Proactively ensure the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability

·            Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks

·            Maintain security, backups and redundancy strategies

·            Provide 2nd and 3rd level support

·            Communicate with stake holders to validate requirements

·            Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence Administration

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities

·        Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows based environments

·        4+ years VMware administration

·        4+ Experience managing ESXi hosts, migrations and upgrades

·        Experience with vSphere 6.5 or greater

·        Experience with Monitoring Systems (LogicMonitor, Opsgenie a plus)

·        Experience with Ansible Automation Platform

·        Knowledge of current server technologies and storage

·        Experience with Backup Technologies (Rubrik), Restoration, and Testing

·        Jira Software & Jira Service Management Administration

·        Strong documentation skills

·        Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows based environments

·        4+ years VMware administration

·        4+ Experience managing ESXi hosts, migrations and upgrades

·        Experience with Vsphere 6.5 or greater

·        Experience with Monitoring Systems (LogicMonitor, OpsGenie a plus)

·        Knowledge of current server technologies and storage

Required Education and Experience

·        BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience

Other Requirements

·        Actively research new technologies

·        Valid California Drivers license
