Structural Designer

Career Area: Engineering - Structural

What We're Looking For:
Responsibilities for this position include:

• Works independently in developing preliminary and finished structural design packages by working collaboratively with Engineers, Project Managers, and Clients

• Prepares design computations and quantity estimates using various software packages.

• Communicates with clients pertaining to specific projects and attends client meetings
• Coordinates between clients, teaming partners, and other disciplines that are working on project
• Provides technical BIM support to other designers
• Provides assistance in performing building and system evaluations and inspections.
• A demonstrated ability to remain abreast of new and current design concepts and techniques.
• Strong problem solving and interpersonal/communication skills
• Capable of reading and interpreting plans from other disciplines (i.e., architectural, civil, plumbing, electrical, mechanical)
• A demonstrated ability to perform project designs with only general technical supervision from the engineering staff.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

• Two-year degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Drafting or equivalent with 8 years relevant experience performing design work or other relevant combination of education and/or experience.
• Must have Autodesk Revit Structure experience.
• Must have experience utilizing Revit to produce structural design drawings for buildings and other structures, including plans, sections and details.
• Must have knowledge of structural detailing practices for structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber.
• Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Autodesk Revit Structure Certification is a plus
