Summary:
Collects, cleans, decontaminates, disinfects and/or sterilizes surgical instruments, trays and packs, reusable medical devices and patient care equipment according to established standards and procedures to ensure sterile and functioning supply of materials and equipment.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience

Certification Requirement
1. Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management); or
2. Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD); or
3. An equivalent certification from a nationally accredited central service technician credentialing organization recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will be CRCST or CBSPD certified, have sterile processing experience and will possess basic computer skills and have excellent communication skills.
