Functional Description:

Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management. Test implemented designs. Build and test automation tools for cloud infrastructure provisioning. Handle code deployments in all environments and promoting code. Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve. Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards. Maintain day-to-day management and administration of projects. Manage Continuous Integration and Continuous Development tools with team. Research industry standards and best practices with a focus on security, stability, testability, scalability, simplicity, and maintainability and propose opportunities for improvement when applicable.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cloud-based infrastructure for new and existing medical devices services.
  • Architect solutions with a focus on security, stability, testability, scalability, simplicity, and maintainability
  • Design and implement support and maintenance tools for cloud-based infrastructure
  • Design implement and operate observability solutions.
  • Support 24x7 operations
  • Employ technical writing skills to communicate with cross functional teams.
  • Employ strong attention to detail.
  • Act as a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills used to interact with technical cross functional team members.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes (GKE)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding virtualized environments
  • Strong Proficiency with writhing and debugging automation for IaaS (Python, Go, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Proficiency operating in Cloud (GCP Preferred, AWS Ok)
  • Ability to articulate ideas to a non-technical audience
  • Must be self-starter and independent managing workload with little day-to-day instruction
  • Strong understanding of Information Technology operations, infrastructure, and application architecture principals.
  • Lead and drive new releases into production for our partners and customers.
  • Manage pre-production and production environments - ensuring environments are kept up to date.
  • Knowledge of cloud orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
  • Knowledge of systems administration and networking technologies
  • Knowledge of Observability tools such as Splunk, APM tools and Cloud Monitoring tools
  • Knowledge of PKI infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Troubleshoot and assist with deployment-related issues and incident redeployment-related items.
  • Deep expertise in modern infrastructure hosting environments, with emphasis in GCP
  • Experience with issue tracking systems. JIRA preferred.
  • Experience with Dev Ops concepts
  • Experience with cloud hosted environments such as GCP or AWS
  • Experience working in the medical device industry
  • Experience with modern source control systems such as Git preferred.
  • Experience with Containerization
  • Possess a DevOps/SRE mindset when approaching tasks with automation, availability, reliability and repeatability in mind.
  • Familiarity with latest Build/Release technologies and systems.

Functional Description

Design, implement and operate GCP cloud infrastructure, application build/deploy automation pipelines and service configuration lifecycle. Build IaaS capability through customized code automating all aspects of build and integration with custom, in-house developed CGM platform components. Research, design and integrate cloud infrastructure in conjunction with application build/deploy pipelines. Use latest industry standard build and test automation tooling to develop and validate deployment integrity and operational reliability of both cloud infrastructure and applications. Automate the deployment and maintenance of observability tools (monitoring) and strategies to drive industry leading visibility and health of the CGM platform. Support teams to define and document SLO's and KPI's for accurate and timely alerting of CGM Platform availability issues. Collaborate across technical teams to create RCA reports and implement changes to improve the CGM platform's availability, maintainability, performance, and security. Work with application architects to propose, develop, and implement systemic improvements as applicable.

  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other colleagues.

Experience and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 8-12 years related experience or Masters degree and 5-7 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 2-4 years of experience.\
