CUMULUS MEDIA | Westwood One (Atlanta, GA) has an immediate hybrid-remote opening for a full time Staff Accountant located at our corporate Atlanta headquarters, and is responsible for supporting the accounting team in carrying out the duties of the department. This role is an integral part of preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and detailed reports. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of GAAP, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as outstanding organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Ensure an accurate, and timely, month-end, quarterly, and year-end financial close.
• Coordinate and execute all month-end close activities within the given close schedule.
• Prepare and gather supporting documentation and explanations for monthly financial reporting, budgeting/forecasts, and analysis for Senior Management review and follow up on any open items.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, supporting workpapers, accruals/re-classes, and variance analysis.
• Assist in performing revenue, contract and payroll review for the Market.
• Assist the FP&A team in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasting.
• Analyze Market expenses, including comparisons to budget, and trend results.
• Respond to inquiries from Senior Management, internal and external auditors, regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
• Support Accounting Manager with special projects.
• Comply with corporate policies and procedures.
• Comply with US GAAP, COSO, and SOX in concert with our internal controls.
• Serve as the back-up for region billing and cash posting departments.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• 1 - 3 years accounting experience, with the month-end close processing experience highly preferred
• Able to work independently and manage workload - prioritizing job tasks to meet deadlines.
