Staff Accountant Job Description



About Maxim Crane:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




* Matches invoices to purchase orders and/or other supporting documentation, ensuring agreement of information and appropriate supervisory approvals are obtained.
* Compiles and maintains accounts payable records; verifies accuracy of invoices; ensures processing in a timely and efficient manner.
* Keypunches and approves all vouchers for payment. Also prepares invoice deduction notices, as necessary.


* Investigates and responds to vendor inquiries.


* Analyzes vendor accounts and negotiates extended terms with vendors.


* Prepares accounts payable checks.


* Produces various accounts payable reports for management, and maintains all accounts payable files.


* Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.


* Assists in monthly financial statement closing process.


* Assists with Payroll processing.


* Assists with special projects, as directed


* Additional duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
