JOB DESCRIPTION

Notified is hiring a Sr. Software Engineer in the Greater Boston Area.

Your responsibilities will include.

• Software development for cloud-based services (mainly in Python)
• Design, implementation and operation (e.g. troubleshooting) of infrastructure for cloud-based services
• Creation of tests (Unit, UI) and documentation
• Automation of development and application processes
• Active participation in the further development of our monitoring processes and infrastructure (Alerting, APM)
• Active participation in the further development of our continuous integration and deployment processes and infrastructure
• Participation (virtual or in person) in planning meetings for coordination between the Scrum teams
• Independent and joint development of solutions for complex problems

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:

• Degree in computer science or comparable qualification and relevant professional experience as a software developer

Experience:

• Python 3.X development
• Intermediate experience in working with Jenkins preferred
• Intermediate experience (practical application) in the area of development with / integration of authentication and authorization / solutions / protocols preferred
• Intermediate experience (practical application) in stream processing (Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis) / "Event Driven Architectures" is preferred
• Intermediate experience (practical application) in the field of NoSQL and relational databases is desirable
• Experience in Scaled Agile Framework preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• You always try to fully understand the problem and think without borders
• You have practical experience in the application of agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum or XP)
• Your spoken and written English is very good (minimum C1 / C2 desired)
• You are willing to further establish the DevOps culture
• You strive for clean code and would sign the Software Craftsmanship Manifesto
• You know and use common design and architecture patterns
• As an optional plus you have advanced experience (practical application and applied theory) in developing and creating tests with Python (3.X)
• Ideally you have experience (practical application) with Continuous Monitoring, APM (e.g. New Relic, AWS CloudWatch Metrics, X-Ray) and logging (e.g. ELK, AWS CloudWatch Logs)
• You are an expert (recognized authority) with the public cloud offers from AWS, Terraform (in the AWS environment), Kubernetes (AWS EKS) and Docker
• Most of all: you are a team player!
