Position Purpose:
Direct all activities of materials, inbound logistics, production control, and inventory control functions for all facilities division-wide.

Essential Functions:
1. Participate in the development of the Division's business strategy and annual planning process. Work closely with the Director of Operations and other staff members in establishing the Division's policies and objectives. Identify ways that material management can provide the Division with a strategic edge.
2. Maintain and monitor capacity management systems for the entire division, and balance capacity among multiple plants.
3. Utilizes floor stocks and back flushing methods.
4. Development of an expert, highly professional, materials management staff. Ability to build cooperative cross-functional relationships among all Hendrickson divisions. Able to energize people in a focused direction and team environment.
5. Promote state of the art approaches to increase manufacturing input. Elevate the knowledge level and sophistication of production and inventory control techniques.
6. Facilitate high proficiency in Hendrickson assembly operations. Support assembly line systems with internal and external components to service customers at targeted delivery reliability.
7. Maintain shop floor control, production of repetitive, manufactured items using KANBAN and JIT Build Schedules. Incorporate simple, visual control techniques with a manufacturing control system interface.
8. Manage interplant logistics and inventory control. Minimize inventory investment through effective use of MRPII planning tools. Optimize freight routings and load management to reduce freight and transportation cost.
9. Coordinate material shortages across the division to ensure uninterrupted production process.
10. Maintain and update inventory transaction accuracy systems. Responsible for monitoring inventory cycle count.
11. Manage material planning process for division to develop capacity planning from Sales and Marketing to develop overall material plan to drive proper inventory levels.
All other duties as assigned

Education and Training:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
• Must be CPIM certified.

Minimum Qualifications:
• 10 - 15 years in material management or operations in a lucrative manufacturing environment.
• Significant, successful management experience required with a strong general business sense. Able to demonstrate good leadership under adverse conditions.
• Thorough knowledge of MRPII.
• Proficient in all Microsoft programs, specifically: Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and Access
• Good working knowledge of logistics, lean manufacturing concepts, including KANBAN, JIT, and TOC.
• Experience with Divisional/corporate materials management of multiple locations.

Physical Demands:
• Must be willing to travel moderately.

Environmental Conditions:
• Office setting - frequent periods of sitting at desk.
