Tell us about your department:

• Merchandising handles pricing up to the point of price execution.  
• Within the Technology department we have a number of systems that help Client employees plan for product merchandising from planning with vendors to promotion planning to physical product placement in Client retail locations.  
• These systems need to inform each other, as well as collaborate with other systems outside of merchandising.

Project Description:

• Promo lab is promotion planning tool that allows users to plan a promotion, collaborate with analysts, and submit a promotion for execution.
• Currently Promo lab is a monolithic application that will be turned into a micro/multi-service application for scalability and maintainability.

Position Summary/Job Description:

• All position will require some level of full-stack development.  
• This position, however, primarily focuses on engineering a Federated Frontend/UI that will coordinate with many RESTful applications.  
• This position is expected to lead the way (including mentor) in creating a clean, maintainable, testable, user centric Frontend/UI as it’s own application.

How much time will the resource spend pair programming? 

• The team values pairing, and attempts to pair for a full day, with pairs rotating daily. Solo work is reluctantly undertaken.

Skills Overview:
What are the top five skills and number of years of experience required to perform this job?

• 9+ years engineering clean, maintainable Web Frontends/UIs with established frameworks (think Vue, Angular, React) that collaborate with RESTFUL APIs. Combinations of frameworks summing to at least 9 years is acceptable.
• 5+ years enthusiastically employing TDD practices against Web Frontends/UIs, including creating test strategies that follow the traditional 3+ tier testing pyramid.
• 5+ years supporting cloud based application(s) in a production environment (combined, not necessarily contiguous), where heroes and cowboys are avoided.
• 5+ years tenaciously working in DevOps(ish) environment, include creating CI/CD infrastructure using Jenkins [or a clone].
• 0.5+ years delightfully engineering in an environment that pairs

What are some preferred/nice to have skills the manager is looking for?

• Groovy experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with Spock would be fabulous.
