Job Description

The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the maintenance of standard cost in Oracle and the quantification of financial and operational analyses related to material spend, inventory levels and utilization, Gross Margin, EBITDA and other relevant financial metrics.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in supporting continuous ideation for cost improvement to deliver improved business results
  • Supporting the Cost Accounting Systems (Oracle / AS400) as well as supporting the Global Procurement organization with analytics
  • Supporting the maintenance of accurate labor, overhead, yield and material costs within AS400/Oracle at the SKU level (e.g., raw materials, packaging components, bulk, and finished goods)
  • Providing analytics to evaluate variances to standard. Provide explanations to the key drivers along with recommending to improve costs
  • Communicating cost risks and opportunities to leadership in Supply Chain and the Business Units
  • Assisting in monitoring and driving continuous improvements in inventory costing, utilization, and inventory turns
  • Driving continuous margin improvement ideation with the business units via the monthly Gross Margin Variance Analysis (GMVA) process
  • Assisting with monthly spend analysis and reporting on purchase price variance (PPV) with Global Procurement
  • Leading the development and research of plan/forecast/prior year comparison reports, provide variance explanations and insights to drive improved business performance
  • Assisting in the development and analysis of the Annual Plan and Forecasts for Supply Chain
  • Co-leading the annual standard cost update process
  • Driving continuous enhancements to optimize the process
  • Researching, tracking and summarizing data including metrics, trends, profitability and expense analyses
  • Interpreting data into actionable items and work with cross-functional partners to drive business results
  • Analyzing new innovation projects designed to improve operations, cost control, and performance
  • Monitoring and analyzing ROI's for Global Procurement projects
  • Communicating risks and opportunities to business
  • Assisting the Global Procurement team with the development of supplier contracts and RFP's/RFI's by providing key metrics and analytics
Job Requirements
  • 3+ years of Cost Accounting or Finance experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods or related industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Business/Accounting required
  • Master's Degree in Finance/Business/Accounting a plus
  • AS400, Oracle, GL Wand, Hyperion, and BI knowledge a plus
  • Strong Excel modeling skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong ability to interpret data, identify and communicate potential opportunities and risks
  • Flexible and able to prioritize multiple projects in order to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and capability to contribute to a fast-paced team environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence others to get results or develop solutions
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Must be proficient with Windows, Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Power Point, etc.
