JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking to hire a Sr. Financial Accountant- Crop Insurance! Exciting opportunity for recent college graduates or professionals with one to five years of accounting experience or similar work experience as an entry/ intermediate level Accountant to join our Team!This position will report directly to the Controller and will be responsible for the financial reporting and analysis functions specializing in Crop Insurance in support of the Corporate Finance Department. Engaged in monthly financial close and reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and assisting with the regulatory call reports and GL reconciliations.

Responsibilities to include:

• Prepares all accounting and reporting of crop insurance income.
• Assists the Association management in the budgeting processes.
• Compiles reports and information in connection with audits and/or examinations of the association by system entities and independent firms employed by the system or the association.
• Provides assistance to the association management in developing necessary monthly projections for crop insurance and all other areas of operations as requested.
• Prepares management reports for presentation to the board of directors and other reports as requested by the CEO or Chief Financial Officer.
• Assists in the timely preparation and filing of regulatory call reports.
• Maintains all accounting and finance procedures related to crop insurance.
• Performs general ledger reconciliations.

In addition the position may perform the following: Generating analysis reports using Microsoft SQL Server and Access.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Experience: One to five years of accounting experience or similar work experience.

Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP.
• Ability to establish priorities, take initiative, work under time pressures, and exercise independent judgment.
• PC proficiency using Microsoft Office and other Association software
