Overview

The Senior Director, HCP and Payer Lead will be responsible for setting and implementing the strategy for both the HCP and Payer business on the Rare Disease team, while ensuring the strategy and supporting initiatives align to the overall Global Brand strategy. In addition, this individual will be responsible for preparing and leading the brand for any potential future indications. Responsibilities include identifying innovative HCP initiatives to continue to drive brand growth, continue to evolve the brand value proposition and update messaging, evolve payer initiatives and value proposition while working with the Payer Market Access Lead. This individual will manage 2 HCP team members and ensure pull through of the strategy and campaign through all supporting HCP initiatives. As the HCP and Payer Lead, this individual will oversee management of the Agency of Record and will work closely with a diverse team of cross-functional partners, including ex-US colleagues, to achieve near and long-term product objectives. Position will report to the Global Commercial Lead for Rare Disease. This role will have 2 direct reports.

Responsibilities

Additional representative responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

  • Identify key insights and translate to clear, actionable strategies
  • Lead development and implementation of tactical plans for health care professionals
  • Evolve and implement a clear, concise value proposition, with supporting messaging, for health care professionals to be delivered through a detail aid
  • Continue to evolve the Payer Value Proposition as new data is available and supporting resources
  • Prepare and lead launch of potential future indication
  • Actively participate and represent US Rare Disease in various cross-functional meetings (ie. Data Governance, Supply, Global Brand Strategy Team etc)
  • Actively manage and develop an Associate Director and Product Manager on the HCP team
  • Partner with Agency of Record and cross-functional partners, including ex-US colleagues
  • Work closely with Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Commercial Operations team members to align and compliantly execute key tactical activities
  • Establish strong relationships and develop collaborative areas of shared interest with key stakeholders, including HCP experts and professional societies
  • Work closely with the financial business partner to identify and manage HCP resources
  • Be a product champion and maintain knowledge of therapy areas
  • Ensure culture of compliance for brand commercial team


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Biological Science or Pharmacy discipline; MBA preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of 7-10 years pharmaceutical experience in brand management/marketing in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry
  • Demonstrated track record of developing brand strategy for launch, or leading to significant growth
  • A track record of developing and implementing marketing strategies and tactics that have delivered strong commercial results.
  • Experience in managing external partners (e.g. consultants, agencies)
  • Experience as a people manager preferred with track record of developing talent
  • Proven ability to develop exceptional relationships and have an impact on or appropriately influence others
  • Experience working with global colleagues preferred
  • Experience working in a start-up and/or mid-cap sized company highly desired
  • Orphan or rare disease experience (pulmonary preferred) and/or an authentic commitment to working closely with patient community preferred
  • Successful track record of U.S. product launch experience also preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in working with cross-functional, high-performance teams

  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy and conciseness.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Travel Requirements

Up to 30% travel.
