Job Description Summary:
We're looking for a Senior Director to lead the Platform Operations Optimization team responsible for leveraging and optimizing common services such as ECM, Document Management, Search, and business process via actionable insights across Global Customer Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Privacy business domains. In this role, you'll manage a team of highly analytical and technical process, data, and insights product resources. You will partner with the Business, Product, and Technology organization to ask the right questions, build data-driven narratives to answer those questions, and align stakeholders on the right decisions that shape product strategy and development.

As a strong Senior Director of Platform Operations Optimization candidate, you are an excellent storyteller who's comfortable swimming in ambiguity, mentoring and developing your team, and partnering with stakeholders who span a wide spectrum of data fluency to mine for quantitative insights and measure what matters for Platform Product team. In this role, you will build trust with your stakeholders and partner with them closely on their analytics needs. You will help create an operating model that seamlessly integrates analytics within product development. The leader of this team will need to understand business objectives, product outcomes, company strategy, and product strategy to deliver guidance to the team to derive the right insights. You'll develop subject matter expertise in PayPal product and services and its adjacent brands along with front and back-office functions across Customer Service, Risk, Compliance, and Privacy. Job Description:
Job Responsibilities
  • Lead an organization of high-performing, exceedingly technical, and curious process, data and analytics professionals to partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and Operations teams as you mine for quantitative insights while figuring out how to move the metrics that matter and develop accuratedata models
  • Partner with product leaders to helpthem optimize their product strategy and development decisions by establishing meaningful relationships with Product leaders, using subject matter and industry expertise to pose and prove impactful hypothesesandenable data-driven decision making
  • Partner with business leaders (e.g., product, business development, and finance) to define business strategies, areas of investment, and critical priorities
  • Leads and nurtures a team of talented analysts with a focus on key customer KPIs
  • Ensure data strategy is optimized across data sourcing, data management, and data quality to deliver high quality key business KPI's
  • Organize and structure customer touch point data, customer calls, click stream data to enable customer journey analysis to reduce call in rates and AHT
  • Deliver high-value Analytics Projects that will help derive data insights enabling faster growth for PayPal
  • Identify new and relevant data sources to integrate and incorporate into reporting, analyses, and models
  • Define and set best practices, frameworks, and advanced analytics techniques to go beyond correlation, establishing causation, increasing conversions, reducing churn, and capturing customer value.
  • Understand and leverage advanced mathematical and statistical concepts and theories to analyze and collect data from disparate sources and construct solutions to business problems.

Requirements
  • 8+ years experience in Advanced Analytics, Insights, and Data Management for a company with large data footprint
  • Experience developing customer journey analysis across multiple channels and products to identify friction points and actionable insights
  • Experience managing team of data scientists and algorithms to extract information from unstructured text, web, and clickstream data
  • Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Global Statistics, Mathematics, Management, Information Systems, or any other quantitative discipline; Master's degree preferred
  • Experience framing and presenting data-driven stories to senior audiences and cross-functional groups that go global
  • Proven ability to scale by retaining, developing, and attracting top talent
  • Experience working with relational databases and leveraging enterprise-reporting tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills crafting compelling narratives from disparate data and KPIs
  • Knowledge of data science and statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, etc.)
  • Experience with Tableau, Looker, or similar BI/Data Visualization tool; experience with SQL
  • Knowledge of Amplitude or other behavioral analytics tools is a plus

New York City Only : The pay range for this position is as mentioned below per year, plus annual bonus. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary. New York City Salary in USD: $220575 - $272475
