Summary

This is a home-based position with work related to Colorado's Medicaid program. Travel is not required. With limited direction, this individual will participate in and conduct designated projects and external quality review-related (EQR-related) activities within the State and Corporate Services division. Excellent interpersonal skills are required as this individual will interact directly and coordinate with internal HSAG teams and other divisions as well as with external clients including managed care entities (MCEs) and State Medicaid Agency personnel.

Essential Competencies, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and conduct project design, methodology development, project performance and monitoring, and report preparation for assigned projects.
  • Develop and adhere to project timelines for task schedules and deliverables.
  • Collaborate and communicate (written and verbal) with contracted client (State of Colorado) to meet expectations and project deliverables.
  • Conduct virtual audits of Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) health plans for compliance with State and federal health care regulations.
  • Collaborate with other EQR activity leads to meet timelines and achieve project milestones.
  • Develop positive relationships with internal and external teams.
  • Develop a full understanding of Medicaid and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Medicaid regulations.
  • Participate in State progress teleconferences, activity/audit specific teleconferences, and ad hoc meetings with the HSAG team and the State of Colorado.
  • Participate in planning and conducting telephonic and web-based technical assistance conferences and leading training presentations.
  • Serve as primary project manager for assigned EQR-related projects.
  • Assist other team members with additional EQR related projects.

    Compensation: 97,000 - 110,000/annually

    Job Requirements:

    Education and/or Experience

    • Bachelors' degree in a healthcare or related field required.
    • Master's degree in a healthcare, or related field preferred.
    • Licensing as a healthcare professional (e.g. LCSW, LPC, RN, etc.) is required, minimum of five years of clinical experience is preferred.

      Other Qualifications

      • Experience treating members with substance use disorders.
      • Utilization Management (UM) and/or Quality Management experience.
      • Familiarity with the American Society for Addiction Medicine (ASAM) levels of care.
      • Either training in using ASAM levels of care to make UM determinations or willingness to complete training in first 90 days after hire.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Experience working with teams.
      • Knowledge of managed healthcare models.
      • Good computer skills and familiarity with Windows environment and Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
      • Knowledge of quality improvement processes.
      • Ability to coordinate numerous concurrent projects.
