Summary:

The Specialized Equipment Analyst works with HO to create a strategic plan to cover global commercial demand of reefers, gensets, flatracks, and open tops. Through various methods, the analyst gathers data and produces reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and on an ad hoc basis, which supports the entire Specialized Equipment team. The analyst produces the daily "breakdown" which is the basis for all specialized equipment bookings, inventory, and forecasts, which is presented and maintained in a Microsoft Access database. Additionally, the analyst is the point of contact for all foreign, coastal, and land based repositions and associated cost.

This position will be responsible to:

  • Plan vessels for empty evacuation, coastal stock feeding, and continuation of a strategic equipment plan to support global needs.
  • Run daily reports and maintaining the equipment "breakdown".
  • Price reposition, present cost to Trade for confirmation, and moving containers.
  • Track idle containers and target for backload or prioritize for reuse accordingly.
  • Track offhire containers and present YTD progress monthly.
  • Genset Tracking and idle follow up.
  • Backup Specialized Equipment coordinator, as needed.
  • Miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned.

Skill Sets / Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High Diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years general work experience
  • Advanced knowledge of intermodal and vessel operations
  • World geography to include major port locations
  • Organizational processes
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel: including pivot tables, v-lookups & graphing functions
  • Attention to detail with problem solving abilities
  • Full knowledge of MIRA, GAIA, DIVA, and LARA
  • Advanced SQL & Macro knowledge
  • Cost minded and willingness to take on challenges

Skill Sets / Education & Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
