As a Software Engineer III and part of Sam's Club - Club Operations Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and building a ground-up transformation of how our hundreds of clubs are managed. You will be responsible for integrating data sources across business intelligence, supply chain, inventory management, and other systems into an event driven architecture used to proactively manage resources throughout the club. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including business, product, UX, and other engineering teams to build a world class solution.

What you'll do:

  • Develop, test, and deploy cutting edge real-time systems impacting millions of associates and members nationwide
  • Collaborate with senior members of the team and other development teams to gather requirements and participate in design discussions
  • Mentor more junior developers and help the team grow in technical skills

Your Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Java / Spring back-end applications
  • Understanding of event driven architectures and patterns
  • Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases
  • Proficiency with SQL of moderate complexity
  • Experience with unit testing Java applications

About the Team

As a member of the of the Engineering group, you'll be responsible for evaluating large amounts of data as part of the ongoing effort to optimize processes and delivery protocols. You'll operate as a trusted advisor as it relates to efficiencies and best practices. As a senior member of the team, you'll be able to say that you work for the world's largest retailer and contribute to the development to best-in-class methodologies that impacted perception and drastically changed business as we know it.
