Role

We are looking for a knowledgeable frontend developer who can contribute to maintaining a solid react ecosystem, design performant pixel-perfect UI components using Material/Bootstrap components, understand how Graphql works, and connect presentational components to logical ones. TypeScript will form a basis for everything.

The candidate for this role will work alongside team members and apply technical, analytics, and communication skills to produce and maintain high-quality data-intensive web applications.

The candidate should be able to work on individual pieces of work and solve problems, including UI display issues, specific browser-related errors, performance improvements, and code optimizations.

Required Experience/Skills

  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • 2+ years of React.js development experience and understanding of how React works.
  • A strong knowledge of Typescript and the role type systems play in JavaScript.
  • Asynchronous programming, including Promises, async/await, and ES7 generators, along with state management using Redux.
  • Write and maintain APIs using Graphql and REST.
  • Experience building reusable Graphql components.
  • Experience with Apollo Graphql Gateway and customization, ORMs like Prisma.
  • Proficient in using source control systems (i.e., Git or Azure DevOps).
  • Experience with using test-driven development and testing frameworks.
  • Understanding of container-based deployment principles, including Docker and deployment to Kubernetes.

Preferred Skills
  • Expertise in development languages including but not limited to: JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Golang, and Perl.
  • Understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles and knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch or Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Experience with MySQL is a plus.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
Accountabilities
  • Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
  • Complete complex bug fixes.
  • Work closely with other development team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into software design.
  • Operate in an agile development environment while collaborating with key stakeholders.
