About the Position:

SMU Libraries (Bridwell Library, Perkins School of Theology) seeks a motivated, dynamic, and service-oriented candidate for the full-time position of Research and Instruction Librarian. This position is a non-faculty staff position reporting to the Bridwell Library Director and will support the library's efforts to conduct outstanding reference, research, and writing services through both traditional best practices and utilization of current and next-generation tools for theological, biblical studies, and ministry research. The position will work closely with a diversity of specialists in both Bridwell and the SMU Libraries to effectively provide the best service to patrons. In our ever-changing ecclesiastical, digital, and online environments, the position will require thoughtful consideration of how to mediate between the curricular needs of theological education and the adaptive and transformative technologies that may be best suited to fulfilling those needs. The position will work with students both in Dallas and remotely in the Houston-Galveston Program; supporting the work of the Theological Writing Center; and collaborating with a broad and varied constituency. To that end we value diverse experience and creativity, and we strive to foster an open and supportive work environment.
