As a Skills Trainer for our Project SEARCH Employment Internship programs you'll provide 1:1 onsite coaching in job rotations, as well as assisting with classroom teaching. Additionally, you'll complete task analysis when required; communicate with business' Department Manager/Hiring Manager to assist in a successful internship, assist with job development for all interns at the end of the internship, and complete all necessary billing and documentation. Also, this position provide pre-employment activities such as resume assistance, online applications, and learning soft skills. This position will start off with virtual services, then move to an on-site Project SEARCH location in the Fall when the program opens.

Essential Duties

  • Arrive to work on time and with the tools/material necessary for the job.
  • Coach our participants in the host business.
  • Work with interns to help them build interview skills.
  • Problem-solve interpersonal issues and poor work behaviors, as needed.
  • Complete task analysis templates for each department in the program and fill out the task analysis form for each intern.
  • Complete monthly BR and Brokerage progress notes for each intern.
  • Assist participants in learning task as independently as possible and work cooperatively with each person's vocational team to create plans and/or obtain tools that would improve their capacity to learn their job.
  • Work with job seekers/ interns in pre-employment paperwork and online applications.
  • Assist Job Developer as necessary and required.
  • Maintain progress notes and time sheets.
  • Ensure that each participant's personal and medical information is always current in their work file, discovery forms and/or relate any changes to supervisor.
  • Maintain clear communication with community employment manager and others as part of the ISP team.
  • Attend required trainings and ISP meetings.
  • Relate any change and/or concerns to your supervisor.
  • Perform other tasks as required by your supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Three years' experience working with persons with developmental disabilities in an employment setting preferred.
  • Ability to pass a criminal history check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Ability to meet agency driving requirements.
