Job Purpose

We are looking for a dynamic site manager to lead our powder coating facility in Reading, PA. This role will contribute directlyto the execution of the sales, expense and profitability targets through successful, hands onmanagement ofOperations at the site and continuously improvingthe performance of the site's Key Performance Indicators and metrics. Additionally, this role will plan, lead, organize andcontrolthe delivery (ready to serve) of the site's contribution to business objectives and overall performance (in terms of safety, reliability, productivity, service, cost, quality, material/eco-efficiency and community stewardship) and provideinsights regarding developments based on thorough analysis of operations data sets.

Key Activities

  • Workclosely with the relevant stakeholders to ensure matrix structure operates efficiently
  • Actas an ambassador and encouraging talent processes and engagement
  • Strengthenthe talent pipeline by developing talent and regularly assesses and discusses talent and internal movement. Continuously monitorand evaluateretention risk
  • Stimulate, manage and followthrough on employee engagement and builds on the workforce to reflect the societies and markets in which we do business
  • Createan open environment in the team where all people can perform at their best and stimulates the development of others and ensures an engaged finance team
  • Ensurereporting line is fully informed and acts in line with HSE and Compliance regulations
  • Manageand planrelevant (departmental) budget and proactively manages the costs
  • Contributeto the formulation of business objectives from an operations perspective and ensures site capabilities, constraints and HSE considerations are incorporated into integrated business planning
  • Establish, achieve, enforceand continuously improvethe performance levels for the site in terms of customer service, safety, cost, quality, resource productivity, capital, engagement and eco efficiency and enforces the minimum personal performance level
  • Implement and operatethe standard ALPS Center of Excellence processes for the site consistent with the agreed ISC functional excellence agenda
  • Implementand operate the common HSE platform and identifies and respond effectively to hazards in HSE and security
  • Coach, mentorand developthe site management team members and build a team which collectively is capable of and fully involved in achieving the task
  • Establisha culture of functional and operational excellence, continuous improvement and accountability, professionalism and commitment to company values and behaviors
  • Stimulatetalent management by identifying and selecting talentwith growth potential and driving exchange of talents across sites with colleague site managers
  • Networkwith other site managers and stakeholders inside and outside of AkzoNobel to develop and share knowledge, experience, leverage best practice and building a strongtalent pipeline

Experience

  • 10+ years of related experience and background in manufacturing
  • 5+ years experience managing a medium to large size site
  • 5+ years experience managing large CapEx projects
  • Familiar with the use of Operational systemsi.e. Microsoft,SAP, etc.
  • Ability to manage large team independently with cross functional communications and collaboration, locally and regionally, with i.e. isc/commercial teams, legal and complicance, internal and external customers etc.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering required or;

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering AND at least 7-10 years of direct plant leadership in the chemical industry
