The Shop Foreman will work closely with all members of the Fleet Maintenance division to oversee and assist with the day-to-day supervising, direct, coordinating employees' performance, maintenance, service, and repair of the diverse processing equipment within GFL's fleet.
The Shop Foreman must be dependable, enthusiastic, organized, and capable of consistently performing to meet established standards and deadlines

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and organize day to day fleet maintenance operations
• Closely monitor service orders for accuracy
• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting and general repair on a wide range of company machinery and equipment, when required.
• Ensure self and team compliance with all safety standards, policies and procedures
• Communicate regularly with both the Fleet Maintenance team and dispatchers regarding extent of repairs and anticipated completion times.
• Utilize excellent organizational skills in order to complete accurate, legible and descriptive documentation of all completed repairs
• Assist with establishing time standards, productivity measures, budgets and forecasts for the division
• Assist with growing the fleet based maintenance program
• Keep and maintain all spill equipment in good working condition at all times.
• Monthly inventory of supplies and equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

• Journeyman Certificate
• Experience with the Provincial Vehicle Inspection program
• Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities on a wide range of machinery and equipment
Proven ability to assume leadership role to guide workers through completion of projects.
• Familiarity with Company safety policies and legal guidelines of the field.
• Strong computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft software and ability to adapt to new software programs
• Excellent communication skills, management priorities and organizational skills
