Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Shipping Lead includes, but is not limited to, assisting the Shipping Supervisor in leading and developing Shipping department teammates, daily reporting of all picking and outside processing logs, outside processing bin management using Microsoft Excel and Production tracking systems. This teammate will also work with the Sales Department to schedule/staff all Can & Box picking functions while continuously implementing improvements to department operations and providing support to departmental roles such as Picking, Outside Processing Material Handler, Security, or other department roles as needed. This position will work weekends and/or holidays as needed and based on departmental needs. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Forklift Certified
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be willing to work any shift (including weekends)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Computer knowledge with a solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
- Previous Shipping and/or Packaging Department experience
