GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

This position is responsible for providing 24-hour technical support of clinical Imaging Informatics Systems and will act under the supervision of the MI2 Infrastructure Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily support of Windows servers and workstations including but not limited to system hardware and operating system maintenance. This person should have a strong MS SQL server background. This includes ensuring compliance with established Partners protocols for anti-virus and security. Other responsibilities include daily backups of critical systems, application support and issues tracking/resolution. The candidate should have a strong background in server hardware platforms, hardware RAID configurations, and internal server hardware components.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Systems Administrator role includes, but is not limited to:

Human Capital Management:

  • Demonstrating "Customer Service" philosophy when interacting with employees and business partners.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues, and other hospital personnel, to facilitate day to day operations as well as furthering the educational mission of MGH e.g. Partners Network Engineering, Information Security and Server Support teams.
  • Attendance at tradeshows and conferences relevant to the position (e.g. VMWorld, VMUG, and RSNA) as deemed necessary.
  • Attends and participates in Departmental/Hospital meetings.
  • Attends seminars and training sessions necessary to maintain appropriate level of professional competence.

Business Process Management:
  • Collects information to analyze, evaluate and document existing or proposed systems
  • Perform and document workflow mapping for various systems tasks.
  • Perform and document data mapping to identify system dependencies.
Documents the system architecture, processes and procedures associated with Imaging Informatics systems and operations.
  • Ensures all Department, Hospital, JCAHO, and OIG compliance guidelines are met.

Systems / Application Management:
  • Day-to-day operations of the data center, server rooms and the equipment operating within.
  • Participate in on call rotation to provide 24 x 7 x 365 coverage.
  • Perform technology analysis and performance monitoring of systems.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with staff to determine best practices for system integration, common platform deployment and application-level electronic data interchange.
  • Work closely with Partners Information Security and MGH Information System Departments coordinating and maintaining all aspects of IT security within the Department.
  • Work closely with Partners Network Engineering coordinating changes to and maintaining reliability of network infrastructure within the Department.
  • Implementing and supporting high availability and disaster recovery processes for all Imaging Informatics systems.
  • Ability to plan, test, implement and troubleshoot system software and hardware including network connectivity and system peripherals.
  • Ensure all systems are appropriately patched according to policies.
  • Provide phone, e-mail, on-site, and off-site direct user support as required.
  • Investigates, plans, implements, tests, and debugs operating system software
  • Troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration
  • Provide training and documentation instructions for hardware and software operation for clinical systems.
  • Provides advanced technical assistance and maintenance support to departmental end users
  • Records and maintains hardware and software inventories for ender user license agreements
  • Perform end to end testing of workflow mapping and data mapping.
  • Performs problem resolution and provides on-call support for computer/network systems.
  • Ensure Backup and Disaster recovery policies and procedures are documented and maintained.
Project Management:
  • Responsible for communicating to project sponsors, stakeholders, team members and Imaging Leadership all relative project information.
  • Incorporates standard deliverables for "People", "Process" and "Technology" components for every project.
  • Owns the development, management and execution of all project plans and schedules.
  • Identifies, escalates and manages project risks and issues to resolution.
  • Responsible for project administration to include but not limited to, scheduling meetings, reserving conference rooms and conference dial in numbers, creating and distribution of agendas, meeting minutes, schedules, risk/issues logs and status reports.


Qualifications
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • 8 or more years Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems experience, advanced certification preferred.
  • Advanced experience with MS SQL Server 2014 - 2019
  • Experience with vSphere 6.x
  • Experience with Horizon View.
  • Experience with Ivanti Security Controls
  • Experience with Kaspersky Security for Virtualization.
  • Experience with Veeam Backup.
  • Experience with Sun Solaris and Linux.
  • Experience of modern storage architectures and management.
  • Experience with Dell/EMC Isilon, Compellent, EqualLogic.
  • Experience with Dell/EMC VXRack & VXRail
  • Experience planning and implementing enterprise class disaster recovery solutions.
  • Knowledge of Radiology Operations and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) is a plus.
  • Data Center/Operations experience.
  • Knowledge of off-prem DC operations (Azure experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of Network Administration.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 7-10 years of experience with core information technology, technology architecture maintenance and development.
  • Ability to carry out position with high degree of customer service, collaboration, communication and timeliness.
  • Strong Information Technology skills, including hardware, software and networking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems certification (Preferred)
