Overview

Cirium is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer with proven industry experience to join our team. Our teams are collaborative and forward thinking; the successful candidate will help shape the operations and support for critical Linux based applications, customers and projects, working closely with Development, QA, IT Operations and Customer Operations teams.

You will be required to communicate and solve problems effectively, whilst handling a fast-paced working environment. This will be combined with a transition to DevOps practises, agile support and deployment processes.

You will be a key member of our team working with a diverse range of technologies. You will enjoy working in a friendly environment and benefit from our investment in staff. The role also requires On-Call rotation for off peak hours to maintain 24/7, 365 system availability.

Role & Responsibilities

• Monitoring and on-going support of critical, high revenue business applications
• Working with diverse technical and non-technical teams, including Development, QA, IT Operations, Customer Operations and Project Management teams
• Ensure 24/7 technical support and Service Level Agreement for customers is met

• Delivery of resilient application stacks via "Infrastructure as Code" and other DevOps practices
• Diagnosis and resolution of complex system and application issues
• Write and maintain systems / application documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
• Good understanding of defensive, corrective and detective controls and requirements

• Manage Customer Reliability Engineering Activities driving Application Monitoring, Metrics, Incident Reviews andLong Term Actions
• Support BISO Activities implementing InfoSec changes and licence driven upgrades
  

Technical Skills

MUST HAVE SKILLS:

• AWS Architecture
• Leading CI/CD Development
• Mentoring junior staff
• Enterprise level experience with cloud-native technologies

Required knowledge:

• Coding and scripting experience (Bash, Python or equivalent)
• Configuration Management tools (Salt, Puppet or equivalent)
• Well versed in infrastructure as code using tools (Terraform, Ansible or CloudFormation)
• Professional experience working with a cloud provider service
• Hands-on experience of Linux server administration
• Cloud Architecture and system design to solve key business problems and facilitate team goals
• Exposure to application security testing (source code review and web/mobile application penetration tests)
• Well versed in Information security principles and implementation of tools
• Analytic and troubleshooting experience
• Continuous Integration/Delivery tools (Gitlab or Jenkins)
• Experience working with containerized workloads (Docker and Kubernetes)
• Experience with Log Management tools (Datadog, Graylog or Splunk)
• Knowledge of change control and associated procedures
• Experience with any high-level programming language (Python, Ruby, Java or Go)
• Able to manage projects of various size and complexity
• Establishing common patterns and procedures
  

Preferred

• Experience with Blue-Green or other deployment methodologies
• Experience working with an enterprise RDBMS like Postgres
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as Mongo or Redis
• Cloud spend and forecasting (Cloudability)
  

Experience & Education

• 5+ years experience working in a SRE or DevOps related capacity
• BS Engineering or Computer Science or relevant work experience
• Desirable - AWS Certification or security certification
