NASCAR is looking to hire a Sr. Security Analyst. This person is responsible for providing technical guidance around NASCAR Digital Media's Security Practice. The candidate will develop, implement, and manage information security for the department and work closely with both infrastructure and programming team members to secure NDM's applications from top to bottom. This role will be very hands on with the candidate being expected to implement many of the suggested changes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Security Management/Leadership

  • Lead cross functional teams from Development and Infrastructure to create policies that will secure the department without adding a lot of overhead.
  • Serve as point of contact for all cyber security vendors.
  • Lead department's decision-making process regarding adding, removing, or modifying services provided by third parties.
  • Implement new security strategies with minimal downtime to the department or their clients.
Information Security Expert
  • Serve as an internal information security consultant to the department, monitoring advancements in information security technologies.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and accreditation standards that affect information security. Stay abreast of the latest thinking, technologies, and security literature.
  • Initiate, facilitate, and promote activities to foster information security awareness within the department.
Secure Systems Management
  • Plan and organize work consistent with the strategic goals of NASCAR.
  • Identify priority activities and assignments and ensure the effective monitoring and implementation of work plans.
  • Monitor and report IT security events, incidents, and vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure the integrity of servers, databases, firewalls, cloud products and other devices for secure data transfer.
  • Troubleshoot and repair information security tool implementations.
  • Assist efforts to determine information security frameworks, requirements, direction and system recommendations.
  • Maintain existing capabilities, make recommendations and implement appropriate up-to-date security technologies such as encryption, anti-virus software etc. as needed.
  • Configure existing technologies to solve operational issues.
Risk Assessment
  • Perform annual penetration testing and risk assessments against assets and processes, in conjunction with NASCAR Enterprise Security.
  • Assist in preparing the department's disaster recovery and business continuity plans for information systems.
  • Monitor compliance with the organization's information security policies and procedures among employees, contractors, alliances, and other third parties; refer problems to appropriate department managers or administrators.
Documentation
  • Compile, deliver, and maintain security/compliance documentation for internal and external consumption.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four (4) year college or university and minimum of ten (10) years' experience digital security; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient on all Company provided hardware and software and a strong technical skillset.

Competent with IDS/IPS systems operations; application and Infrastructure Scanning Systems; Internet Filtering Products; Identity Management Solutions; and Security Log Management Solutions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

One of two industry recognized certification credentials: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

CEH: Certified Ethical Hacker

AWS Certified Security - Specialty (Not required, but a plus)

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent coaching, technical, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to plan, direct and control security programs and initiatives.
  • Quick and effective assessment and judgment skills.
  • Able to work independently and consultatively to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Excellent oral, written and communication skills are important in collaborating with colleagues and other teams across the NASCAR organization from different backgrounds and with different technical abilities.
  • Able to handle stress and work under pressure with professionalism.
  • Able to meet deadlines, self-motivated and self-managed.
  • Able to present to large groups and executive leadership.
  • Capable of performing organization Attack and Penetration Testing.
  • Professional competencies in computer engineering or related field of work.
  • Conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Proven analytical skills to arrive at sound conclusions when dealing with complex issues.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of policies and to interpret procedures and guidelines Communication.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical items to non-technical individuals in a succinct and clear fashion.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
  • Highly experienced in Systems Administration Practices, Software as a Service Applications and Compliance Management of PCI DSS, PII, GDRP, CCPA and others.
  • Experience with AWS required.
  • Experience with Auth0 is a plus.
  • Experience with Alert Logic is a plus.
  • Current knowledge of industry trends, standards, and technologies.
