CobbFendley is seeking a Broadband Senior Project Managerinthe area.


QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate’s most important qualifications include the following.
  • 10+ years of experience in Utility Coordination, Fiber, or Broadband.
  • Project management experience with client interactions, task management, and business development.
  • Ability to work independently; well-developed time management skills, especially the ability to complete high-quality, detail-oriented deliverables on tight timelines amid competing deadlines within a diverse work group.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written and visual formats technical information related to natural hazards and resilience in projects, presentations, and papers, as well as facilitate community meetings with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform an expanded array of tasks as needed to broaden experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs applicable to business units.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, resourcefulness, and tact in obtaining and analyzing information related to engineering and design.
  • Ability to analyze situations to pinpoint problems and assist with solving problems or identifying sources of obstacles.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Sr. PM responsibilities during proposal phase includes developing detailed proposal for design and permitting scope, including Cost estimates and schedule. Coordinate with RM, DL and other broadband leaders as needed to review proposals prior to submitting to the client.
  • Coordinate internally to bring all the resources needed to successfully implement the project. Utilize help from other offices, develop tracking project management tools and early on communicate with the team our scope of work as well as the QC process to ensure quality submittal.
  • Coordinates AE Services workload with other managers and staff throughout the company via weekly conference calls, emails, calls, etc. If the staff is not utilized, reach out to other managers to request for assignments.
  • Oversee all aspects of Design and permitting Broadband projects which include but not limited to request design drawings from various utilities as required for use in project designs. Research ongoing/future CIP projects for various cities/counties within project boundaries. Set up and maintain electronic files for projects and utility drawings. Maintain project schedules. Develop/maintain client exhibits (KMZ & other GIS platforms) which define project scope of work.
  • Perform project route analysis and high-level design. Coordinate field investigating requests. Keep abreast of design changes from clients by responding to client request.Respond to questions from CAD Technicians and GIS Technicians.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of client standards, rules and requirements for planning, construction, and documentation. Understand the permitting process.
  • Assist with business development by marketing CobbFendley’s Broadband services and other service lines to existing and new/potential clients to increase backlog for the Utah office and across the Company.
  • Assist the Region Manager, Discipline lead and other groups within CobbFendley on overall growth including proposals, projects, and personnel within the Broadband service line.
  • Assist marketing staff with marketing packages, proposal preparation, proposal review, presentations, and marketing meetings. Assist staff with the development of the same.
  • Establish client relations (including utility companies, various pipeline companies, as well as state agencies, and municipalities) to identify and solicit opportunities. Meet with clients regularly to review project performance and sustain a feedback loop that results in continuous improvement for all our services to clients.
  • As a supervisor, the role includes-organizing work for the team, communicating goals, delegating tasks, leading by example, allocating and managing resources, problem solving, managing project progress, reporting progress to RM, coaching to improve team member skill sets, provide training, motivating team members to accomplish their goals, nurturing team member strengths and identifying areas for improvement, representing and advocating for team needs.
  • Exhibit the qualities of leadership such as engaging, supporting, and mentoring to retain and develop current staff. Perform formal employee evaluations annually. Recommend increases for individuals and discretionary performance bonuses for high performers in their group. Identify and recruit staff as needed to perform project work. Listen to individuals’ feedback and resolve issues or conflicts within the group. Work with your team to cross-train with other groups which include but are not limited to SUE, Telco, etc.
  • This role requires the ability to multitask numerous projects and assignments
  • Assist design team in researching and determining required permits for various department projects. Keep abreast of requirements of various permitting entities and any permitting requirement changes. Coordinate with and request permitting information from permitting entities as required. Direct the submittal of permits to permitting entities. Track the submittal and approval of all permits thru internal spreadsheets. Update project specific trackers. Resolution of problems identified in unapproved permits. Submit, pick up, and obtain electronic signatures for drawings from the jurisdictional authority. Documentation and file share with vendors and contractors.
  • Perform independent research and delegate changing priorities.
  • Work with minimal supervision and review design drawings, permit drawings, and GIS geodatabase deliverables (QA/QC).
  • Adhere to CobbFendley’s safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity.
  • Travel to CobbFendley offices, client office, and project locations will be required as needed.
  • Be self-motivated to work in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines.
  • Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with professionals and clients to increase your industry knowledge and grow in your career.

  • Retention and growth of staff supervised by the Sr. PM.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Mobility within the office including movement between floors and workstations.
  • Repeated motions (e.g., typing, reaching, bending, lifting, and carrying).

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
  • Most work is performed in remotely. Some trips to client offices and job sites for observations will be required.
  • Job site observations factors could include: walking and climbing on uneven surfaces, exposure to outdoor environments and extreme weather (heat and freezing temperatures), noise exposure, driving for extended periods of time, exposure to allergens (e.g., pollen, dust, cedar, sumac, poison ivy), exposure to construction and traffic work zones, possible hand and power tool use, and extended periods of Personal Protective Equipment use.
  • Extended use of electronic devices (e.g., computers, printers, copiers, scanners, plotters, and telephones).
  • Use of cutting tools and equipment (e.g., plotting equipment, rotary paper cutter).


EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM EST.
